Kiku shifted her weight to the side, tilting her head slightly as she scanned over the food isle in front of her, trying to remember what she was supposed to get. The low rattle of carts, ceiling fans, and gentle tapping of footsteps along with the chatter of other shoppers about her filled the echo-y store, not that many cared. Kiku tapped her foot, looking up in thought. What was it her mother wanted her to pick up again? For some reason she had having a horrible time trying to remember, probably because she had gotten distracted several times on her way to the store, and did not bother to make a list. It was only a few items, Kiku was sure she'd remember. Though of course, fate hated her and twisted her thoughts to just the opposite. A sigh escaped her lips as she shook her head. "Frigging random memory loss." She grumbled, and turned to keep walking down the isle, hoping somehow she'd remember. If she thought about it too much though, Kiku knew she'd never remember, so instead she wandered around the store, looking at the sales on different foods and idly watching the people shopping around her as well.
"Mommy mommy!" A little boy shouted his mother's side near by. "Can I get some candy? Pleeeaaassee." He piped up hopefully, while his mother shook her head.
"No candy, dear, mommy's shopping for healthy food for dinner tonight." The woman answered, continuing to look down the isle, idly picking up a few items.
"But mommy!!" The child protested, tugging on her hand and stomping his foot. Kiku watched with amusement, 'What a cute kid.' The child ran from his mother's side all of a sudden, and Kiku quirked an eyebrow worriedly, turning her direction towards the child, keeping an eye on him with concern. She tended to do that a lot; see children alone in a crowded area, and took it upon her self to keep an eye on them until she saw that they were in good hands. Sometimes she would merely linger near by and watch, while other times the child was looking so lost that she came up to them and did her best to help. Kiku's mother always said she was great with kids. Kiku watched silently as the little boy reached up one of the rows, grabbing a cereal box, before hurrying back to his mother, who quickly looked around to find where her son ran off too. "Mommy mommy, can I get this then?" The child asked cutely, and the mother seemed to contemplate this for a moment, before nodding.
"You can get this as long as you don't ask for any more candy." She decided, and the little boy nodded happily, piping up, "Okay!"
Kiku smiled and turned to continue walking, when something clicked in her head. Cereal? ..Cereal usually was eaten with.. milk. Milk... "Milk!" Kiku exclaimed suddenly, causing a few people to turn and stare at the strange girl, who just smiled and waved them off, hurrying to the refrigerated section. "Aha! Milk!" Kiku grinned, picked out a carton, "Well that's one down. Now... what else..." Kiku wondered aloud, looking around thoughtfully as she continued walking.
