Kiku kicked at the sand, pushing the grains around with her worn converses, occasionally jumping and randomly making different types of foot steps and marks in the soft sand. The soft lull of the ocean as it washed up against the sand near by mixed with the cawing of the sea gulls, making one forget the town near by. The beach was relatively empty, for night was lingering closer in, causing the heat of the day to run out with it, while the once pleasant breeze off the ocean became colder, and the sand lost it's fiery touch, instead turning cold and sucking the heat out of any who still lingered on the sand.
Kiku continued to stroll about, randomly spinning and jumping and dancing around in the sand, kicking it up occasionally. She hummed to herself, forgetting everything around her except for the sand, the ocean, and the sky, and letting those three fill her spirit and keep her moving. She had nothing better to do, since her mom was out working still and she had not made any friends, so Kiku had most of the day to herself until much later into the night, though she realized she should probably be heading back soon seeing how dark it was getting. Kiku shrugged it off; a few more minutes could not hurt.
